The New York band have been the singer’s support act during her current Monster’s Ball world tour. Wednesday’s show was their first ever UK headline date.
Lady Gaga’s Controversial Act In Live Show
LADY GAGA has been in the mood to shock over the last two nights.
Last night, at London’s O2 Arena, she settled in to a rendition of SHAKIN’ STEVENS’ Merry Christmas Everyone before pulling a Santa doll from the audience and trying to bite its head off.
When that failed she set about impaling it on her stiletto while screaming, “I hate the holidays” in front of 20,000 fans.
As ever, GaGa showcased a string of outrageous outfits, including this rigid see-through number.
Earlier she was parading about in a nun’s wimple – but I’m not sure the look will take off in convents the world over.
This was the fourth time this year GaGa has performed at the O2 but hits Telephone and Bad Romance still sound great.
That said, it was a relief to hear new song You And I – a BOWIE-esque glam stomper – from new album Born This Way.
Before the song she cheekily said: “I read the list of journalists earlier and I know you don’t wanna review this show you just want to get drunk and have a good time.”
The previous night she stunned gig-goers at the tiny O2 Academy2 Islington on Wednesday night by performing unannounced in her bra.
The chart-topper made an impromptu appearance at the 250-capacity venue, joining group SEMI PRECIOUS WEAPONS on stage for two songs and causing pandemonium.
Singer JUSTIN TRANTER shared vocal duties with the Grammy winner.
And at one point Gaga joined drummer DAN CREAN, thrashing at his kit while he played.
Many over-excitied female gig-goers stripped down to their underwear in tribute to the singer’s topless appearance as well, witnesses said.
